Dive lights manufacturers

When sourcing dive lights, you must prioritize Lumen output (brightness) and Beam Angle. For recreational diving, 800 to 1,200 lumens is standard, while technical or search-and-rescue diving requires 3,000+ lumens. The beam angle determines the usage scenario: a narrow beam (5-10 degrees) is ideal for signaling and murky water, whereas a wide beam (70-120 degrees) is essential for underwater photography and video to avoid 'hot spots'.

Ensure the product has an IPX8 waterproof rating at a minimum. You should demand pressure test reports from the supplier that prove the light can withstand depths exceeding your target market's needs (e.g., 100m/330ft for recreational or 200m+ for technical). Look for double or triple O-ring seals and high-grade anodized aluminum (6061-T6) bodies to prevent corrosion and leaks under high pressure.

Prioritize lights using rechargeable Li-ion batteries (such as 18650 or 21700 cells) due to their high energy density. For international shipping compliance, ensure the batteries have UN38.3 certification. Modern buyers prefer USB-C direct charging or magnetic charging ports to reduce the need for opening the battery compartment, which significantly lowers the risk of seal failure and maintenance issues.

Compliance is critical. Products must carry CE, RoHS, and FCC certifications for entry into European and American markets. Additionally, ensure the lights have Overheat Protection (ITS), which automatically dims the light if used at high power on land, and a Low Battery Warning function to prevent divers from being left in total darkness unexpectedly.

The primary risk involves Lithium Battery Regulations. Dive lights are classified as Dangerous Goods if the batteries are included. You must ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Non-Dangerous Goods Declaration for air freight. To save on shipping costs and complexity, consider sourcing lights and batteries separately or using sea freight for bulk orders.

Utilize secure payment methods and Trade Fulfillment services offered by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party to verify that the lumen output, battery life, and depth resistance match the approved samples. Never release the final 70% balance payment until the inspection report is confirmed.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for customization. Many manufacturers on Made-in-China.com allow for OEM branding (laser-etched logos) at relatively low volumes (e.g., 50-100 units). Negotiate for spare parts kits (extra O-rings and lubricant) to be included in the unit price, as these add significant value for the end-user and improve your brand's after-sales reputation.

Returning heavy aluminum lights to the country of origin is often cost-prohibitive. Instead, negotiate a Defective Allowance (usually 1-2%) where the supplier provides extra units upfront to cover potential failures, or secure an agreement for replacement parts/units to be sent with the next shipment rather than requiring a return of the faulty item.
