Empty magnetic makeup palette manufacturers

When sourcing, prioritize the magnetic strength (Gauss rating) to ensure pans remain secure during transit. The base should feature a high-quality rubberized magnet or a ferromagnetic sheet that covers the entire bottom surface. For the casing, reinforced cardboard with a water-resistant film or high-impact ABS plastic is recommended to prevent cracking. If the design includes a window, ensure it is made of shatterproof PET or acrylic rather than thin glass to meet international safety standards.

B2B buyers must ensure the materials used, especially adhesives and surface coatings, are BPA-free and lead-free. For the US market, verify compliance with FDA regulations for food-contact-safe materials (if applicable to packaging) and CPSIA standards. For the EU, the product must adhere to REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) to ensure no harmful phthalates are present in the plastic or synthetic leather finishes.

Look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer OEM/ODM services including hot stamping, UV printing, and silk-screen printing for logos. Advanced customization should include custom die-cut foam inserts for specific pan sizes and magnetic closure systems (hidden magnets) which provide a premium tactile feel compared to plastic latches. Requesting Pantone color matching for the exterior material ensures brand consistency across your product line.

Professional palettes must support depotting workflows, meaning the magnetic base must be flat and compatible with stainless steel metal stickers for non-magnetic pans. For makeup artists, lightweight portability is key, so the weight-to-strength ratio is vital. Functional requirements include 180-degree flat-lay hinges for easy access and mirrored interiors using high-definition, distortion-free glass or reflective polymers.

The main risk is magnetic interference with shipping equipment. While small palettes usually fall under the 'de minimis' rule, large bulk shipments may require a Magnetic Inspection Report for air freight to prove the magnetic field strength at a specific distance is within IATA PI953 limits. Failure to provide this can lead to shipment rejection or additional 'dangerous goods' handling fees.

Always request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) and stipulate that the bulk production must match the magnetism intensity and hinge tension of the approved sample. Use Mil-Std-105E (AQL) inspection levels in your contract, specifically targeting a 2.5/4.0 acceptable quality limit for cosmetic defects like glue residue, scratches on the window, or misaligned logos.

Since palettes are relatively lightweight but can be bulky, Sea Freight (LCL - Less than Container Load) is most economical for orders over 500 units. For smaller trial orders, e-Packet or dedicated line logistics found through Made-in-China.com verified forwarders can balance cost and speed. Ensure the packaging includes double-walled corrugated cartons and EPE foam corner protectors to prevent crushing during long-haul transit.

Utilize the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to hold payments in escrow until the goods are shipped. Additionally, verify the supplier's Audit Reports and check if they are a 'Diamond Member' or 'Audited Supplier', which indicates they have undergone third-party verification by firms like SGS or Bureau Veritas.
