Fiberglass horse manufacturers

When sourcing fiberglass horses, ensure the manufacturer uses high-grade unsaturated polyester resin and alkali-free glass fiber cloth. The surface should be finished with automotive-grade paint and a UV-resistant clear coat to prevent fading and cracking. For outdoor displays, a thickness of 3mm to 5mm is recommended to ensure structural integrity against wind and physical impact.

Request documentation confirming the use of flame-retardant resins if the product is for indoor commercial use. For public safety, ensure the sculpture includes internal steel reinforcements (galvanized steel frames) and pre-cast mounting points at the base to securely bolt the horse to the ground, preventing tipping or theft.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer OEM/ODM services, including custom dimensions (1:1 life-size or miniature), specific Pantone color matching, and various finishes such as glossy, matte, metallic, or textured (imitation bronze/stone). You should provide 3D files (STL/OBJ) or high-resolution photos for accurate mold creation.

Fiberglass horses are relatively low-maintenance. They should be cleaned with mild soap and water periodically. To extend the lifespan in harsh climates, a fresh coat of wax every 6-12 months is advised. Ensure the supplier provides a warranty of at least 2-3 years against structural deformation or significant paint peeling.

Due to their irregular shape and fragility, products must be wrapped in thick bubble wrap and pearl cotton, then secured in a custom-built wooden crate (fumigated for international shipping). Ensure the crate has internal bracing to prevent the sculpture from shifting, as most damage occurs due to vibration during sea freight.

The primary risks include mold inaccuracy and shipping damage. To mitigate these, use Trade Assurance services and require the supplier to send photos and videos of the clay mold for approval before the final fiberglass casting. Additionally, hiring a third-party inspector to verify the finish quality before the balance payment is highly recommended.

Fiberglass horses are 'light cargo' that occupies significant volume. To optimize costs, consider LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping if buying a single unit, or 40HQ containers for bulk orders to maximize space. Ask the supplier if the legs or tail are detachable to reduce the overall dimensions of the packing crate, which can significantly lower freight charges.

Ensure the HS Code (typically 3926.40 for plastic/fiberglass statuettes) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. You will need a Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, and a Certificate of Origin. If the wooden crates are not plywood, a Fumigation Certificate is mandatory to comply with international phytosanitary standards (ISPM 15).
