Fleece fabric rolls manufacturers

When evaluating fleece, the most critical factor is GSM (Grams per Square Meter), which determines the fabric's thickness and warmth; standard weights range from 150 GSM (microfleece) to 300+ GSM (heavyweight polar fleece). Additionally, verify the composition, typically 100% Polyester or Polyester-Cotton blends, and check for anti-pilling treatments to ensure the surface remains smooth after multiple washes. For functional apparel, confirm the moisture-wicking capabilities and breathability ratings.

To ensure market access and consumer safety, prioritize suppliers with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the fabric is free from harmful substances. For the US market, compliance with CPSC flammability standards (16 CFR Part 1610) is mandatory. If you are targeting eco-conscious consumers, look for the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, especially if the fleece is made from recycled PET bottles (rPET).

Request a pre-production sample (PPS) to conduct a 'hand-feel' test for softness and a stretch recovery test to ensure the fabric doesn't lose shape. You should also ask for third-party lab reports covering colorfastness to washing (Grade 4-5 recommended) and shrinkage rates, which should ideally be under 3-5%. For printed or dyed fleece, ensure the DYS (Dyeing Yield Strength) is consistent across different rolls to avoid color shading issues.

Polar Fleece is ideal for outdoor jackets and blankets due to its high thermal insulation. Coral Fleece and Flannel Fleece are preferred for home textiles like bathrobes and pajamas because of their higher pile and softer texture. Sherpa Fleece, which mimics lamb's wool, is best suited for lining winter coats or high-end decorative throws. Understanding the end-use helps in selecting the correct knitting technique (e.g., warp vs. weft knitting).

Utilize Secure Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon confirmation of shipment. Always conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Final Random Inspection (FRI) to verify roll lengths and weight consistency.

Fleece pricing is highly sensitive to raw material (polyester chip) costs. Negotiate based on volume tiers; for example, increasing an order from 500kg to 2,000kg can often reduce the price by 10-15%. If you have a custom color, ask for Lab Dips for approval before production. For startups, look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com that offer 'Ready-to-Ship' stock to bypass high MOQs for custom dyeing.

Fleece is bulky but lightweight, meaning you will likely be charged based on volumetric weight. Ensure the supplier uses vacuum compression packaging to reduce volume and save on freight costs. However, specify that rolls must be wrapped in double-layer plastic bags to prevent moisture ingress and mold during sea transit. For international trade, clarify the Incoterms, preferably using FOB (Free on Board) to maintain control over your shipping costs and customs brokers.
