Fragrance for dishwashing detergent manufacturers

When sourcing fragrances, you must prioritize chemical stability and compatibility with the detergent base. Key specs include pH stability (typically between 8-10 for dish soap), solubility (ensuring the oil integrates without clouding the liquid), and flash point (important for storage safety). High-quality fragrances should be concentrated to allow for low dosage rates, usually between 0.1% to 0.5% of the total formula.

Suppliers must provide an IFRA (International Fragrance Association) Certificate of Conformity to ensure the ingredients are safe for skin contact. Additionally, a comprehensive MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and COA (Certificate of Analysis) are essential for customs clearance and safety protocols. For eco-friendly markets, look for biodegradability certifications and compliance with REACH regulations.

Performance is measured by 'Blooming' (the scent released when the soap hits hot water) and 'Base Masking' (the ability to cover the chemical smell of surfactants). The fragrance must be non-lingering on dishes, meaning it should provide a pleasant washing experience without leaving a scent residue on plates or glassware that could affect food taste.

Market data suggests that Citrus profiles (Lemon, Lime, Grapefruit) remain the top sellers due to their association with cleanliness and grease-cutting power. However, there is a growing trend toward Fresh/Green notes (Aloe Vera, Cucumber) and Fruit-Floral hybrids (Apple Blossom) for premium or 'natural' product lines.

Fragrance oils are often classified as Class 3 Flammable Liquids or Environmentally Hazardous Substances. The biggest risk is improper labeling, which can lead to customs seizures or fines. Ensure the supplier uses UN-certified packaging (such as fluorinated HDPE drums or aluminum canisters) to prevent leakage and oxidation during transit.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party onsite inspections. Request a pre-shipment sample from the same batch intended for the bulk order. Use GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) testing to ensure the bulk shipment matches the chemical fingerprint of the approved sample, preventing 'bait and switch' tactics with diluted oils.

Negotiate based on active ingredient concentration rather than just price per kilogram. A slightly more expensive, highly concentrated oil may have a lower cost-in-use than a cheaper, diluted version. Ask for tiered pricing (e.g., 100kg, 500kg, 1000kg) and request free inclusion of stabilizers or antioxidants for large volume contracts to extend shelf life.

Utilize Secured Payment services on Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipping. For logistics, choose incoterms like CIF or DAP if you want the supplier to handle the complexities of hazardous goods documentation. Always ensure the HS Code (typically 3302.90) is correctly declared to avoid tariff disputes.
