Ftth optical cable manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize fiber type (G.657.A1/A2 is standard for FTTH due to its bend-insensitivity), which allows for installation in tight indoor corners without signal loss. Additionally, verify the tensile strength (typically ≥600N for drop cables) and the crush resistance (≥1000N/100mm) to ensure the cable survives the rigors of installation and long-term environmental stress.

Ensure the products comply with ITU-T G.657 standards for fiber geometry and transmission. For safety, cables must meet IEC 60332-1-2 (flame retardancy) and LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) requirements, especially for indoor deployments. For the European market, CPR (Construction Products Regulation) certification with a specific Euroclass (e.g., Dca or Eca) is often a legal necessity.

LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) is the preferred choice for indoor residential applications to prevent toxic fume emission during fires. For outdoor-to-indoor transitions, PE (Polyethylene) is used for its superior UV resistance and moisture protection, while TPU may be selected for tactical or high-flexibility needs. Always confirm the operating temperature range (usually -40°C to +70°C) matches your local climate.

The strength member prevents fiber breakage during pulling. KFRP (Kevlar Fiber Reinforced Plastic) is non-conductive and offers excellent flexibility, making it ideal for all-dielectric environments. Steel wire is more cost-effective and provides higher tensile strength for aerial spans but requires proper grounding to avoid lightning hazards.

Request a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) report for every batch, specifically looking for OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) test results that show attenuation levels (should be ≤ 0.35 dB/km at 1310nm). For large-scale projects, hire a third-party inspection agency to perform random sampling at the warehouse before the final payment is released.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the price per meter. Negotiate based on raw material price indexing (e.g., linking price to current plastic or steel market rates). Ask for tiered pricing where the unit cost drops by 5-10% when moving from a 10km to a 50km order, and request free spare reels (1-2%) to cover potential installation wastage.

Optical cables are heavy and sensitive to impact. Ensure the supplier uses fumigated wooden reels or reinforced plastic drums with protective lagging. Specify that reels must be shipped upright (on their flanges) and never stacked flat, as this can cause the fiber to shift and tangle. Use moisture-proof wrapping for sea freight to prevent degradation of the cable jacket.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Verify the supplier's Export License and ensure the HS Code (typically 854470) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays or incorrect anti-dumping duties, which are prevalent in certain regions for fiber optic products.
