Garden paper bag manufacturers

When sourcing garden paper bags, prioritize multi-ply wet-strength kraft paper, typically ranging from 100gsm to 150gsm. For heavy-duty applications like grass clippings or damp leaves, ensure the bag features a reinforced thumb-notch and a self-standing square bottom for ease of use. The paper must be biodegradable and compostable, ideally meeting ASTM D6400 or EN 13432 standards to ensure it can be processed in municipal composting facilities.

Request a Cobb 60 test report to verify the paper's water absorption rate; a lower value indicates better performance in wet conditions. For load-bearing, high-quality garden bags should support 30 to 50 gallons (approx. 20-25kg) without tearing. Ask the supplier for bursting strength (Mullen test) data and ensure the bottom seal uses high-tack, moisture-resistant adhesive to prevent failure during transport.

To meet international sustainability regulations, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, which guarantees the wood pulp is sourced from responsibly managed forests. Additionally, if the bags are printed with logos or instructions, ensure the supplier uses soy-based or water-based inks to maintain the product's 100% compostable status and avoid heavy metal contamination in soil.

Yes, look for 2-ply construction for added puncture resistance against twigs. For retail markets, customized packaging (e.g., 5-pack or 10-pack bundles with shrink wrap or paper bands) is essential. For professional use, UV-resistant coatings (if paper-based) can help if bags are left outdoors for extended periods before collection.

The biggest risk is moisture damage during sea transit, which can weaken the kraft paper fibers. Ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty moisture-proof inner lining (PE bags) for the shipping cartons and includes desiccants in the container. Another risk is compliance with local plastic-ban legislation; verify that the 'paper' bag does not contain hidden plastic linings that would violate local environmental laws.

Garden bags are highly seasonal. Negotiate a tiered pricing structure where costs decrease by 15-20% for full container loads (FCL). To manage cash flow, suggest a 30% deposit and 70% balance payment against the Bill of Lading (B/L). For new designs, request a pre-production sample (PPS) to be sent via air courier before the mass production run begins to avoid costly errors.

Because paper bags are bulky but relatively light, they are sensitive to volumetric weight. Work with suppliers on Made-in-China.com who offer high-compression hydraulic packing to fit more units per pallet. Shipping via Sea Freight (FCL) is the only economically viable method for bulk orders; avoid LCL if possible to reduce the risk of crushing from heavier cargo stacked on top.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until shipment is verified. Always hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Final Random Inspection (FRI) focusing on the GSM weight, dimensions, and seam strength before the final payment is released.
