Glass candy bottle jar manufacturers

When sourcing for food storage, prioritize High Borosilicate Glass or Soda-Lime Glass. High borosilicate is preferred for its superior thermal shock resistance and clarity, making it ideal for premium gifting. Ensure the glass is Lead-Free and BPA-free to meet international food safety standards. For high-end retail, look for high transparency (crystal grade) glass that enhances the visual appeal of the colorful candies inside.

The effectiveness of a candy jar depends on its seal. Look for lids equipped with Food-Grade Silicone Gaskets or Airtight Bamboo/Stainless Steel covers. A high-quality vacuum seal is essential to prevent moisture ingress, which keeps candies from sticking together or losing crispness. For commercial bulk storage, verify the thread precision of screw-top lids to ensure a smooth yet tight closure.

Buyers must ensure products comply with FDA (USA) or LFGB (EU) food contact regulations. Request SGS or Intertek test reports specifically for leachable lead and cadmium levels. If the jars are intended for the US market, compliance with California Proposition 65 is highly recommended to avoid legal risks regarding chemical exposure.

Check for uniform wall thickness; uneven glass can lead to fragile spots prone to cracking. Inspect the annealing process quality to ensure internal stresses are removed, which prevents spontaneous breakage. For jars with decorative elements, ensure that electroplating or spray-painting is applied to the exterior only and passes the cross-cut tape adhesion test to prevent peeling.

Glass is highly fragile; therefore, you must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam inserts for each jar. Request a Drop Test Report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier. For bulk sea freight, ensure the use of plastic pallets with corner protectors and shrink-wrap to prevent shifting during transit.

Focus on Volume-Based Pricing; glass production is energy-intensive, so unit costs drop significantly at higher volumes (e.g., 5,000+ units). Negotiate for custom mold fee rebates, where the supplier refunds the initial tooling cost once your cumulative orders reach a certain threshold. Always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to protect your payment until quality is verified.

Hire a third-party inspection agency (like V-Trust or QIMA) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Define an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) in your contract, typically Major Defects 1.5 / Minor Defects 4.0. If the defect rate exceeds this, the supplier should be contractually obligated to rework the batch or provide a credit for the next order.

Due to the high weight-to-value ratio, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical choice. For smaller boutique orders, Sea-to-Truck (Matson/ZIM) offers a balance of speed and cost. Avoid Air Freight unless shipping high-value samples, as the volumetric weight will significantly inflate your landed cost.
