Hospital traction bed manufacturers

When sourcing hospital traction beds, prioritize multi-functionality and structural stability. Key specs include electric or hydraulic adjustment systems for height, backrest, and knee sections. The traction frame must be made of high-grade stainless steel or powder-coated steel to ensure a load capacity of at least 200kg-250kg. Ensure the bed features 360-degree swivel medical casters with central braking systems for safe transport within the facility.

Hospital traction beds are classified as medical devices. You must verify that the supplier holds ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management Systems). For the US market, FDA registration is required; for the EU, CE marking (MDR 2017/745) is essential. Additionally, ensure the electrical components comply with IEC 60601-1 standards for medical electrical equipment safety.

There are two main types: Manual (Mechanical) and Digital (Electric) Traction. Digital beds offer microcomputer control, allowing for precise setting of traction force, duration, and intermittent modes, which is critical for cervical and lumbar spine therapy. Manual beds are more cost-effective and durable for basic orthopedic recovery where high-precision digital monitoring is not the primary requirement.

The bed surface should use high-density flame-retardant foam covered with medical-grade PU leather, which is resistant to chemical disinfectants and easy to clean. The base frame should have an anti-microbial powder coating to prevent cross-infection. For the traction ropes and pulleys, look for nylon-coated steel wires to ensure smooth operation and prevent fraying.

Always request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) conducted by a third-party agency like SGS or TÜV. Focus on load-bearing tests and motor noise levels. For secure transactions, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure payment is only released after the goods pass quality verification and shipping documents are confirmed.

Due to the bulk and weight, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical method. Ensure the supplier uses seaworthy reinforced wooden crate packaging (ISPM 15 compliant) to prevent structural damage during transit. It is highly recommended to purchase Marine Cargo Insurance covering 110% of the CIF value to protect against potential damage during loading or rough seas.

Negotiate for a warranty period of at least 2-3 years on the main frame and 1 year on motors/actuators. Demand that the supplier provides 1-2% free-of-charge (FOC) wear-and-tear spare parts (such as casters, remote controllers, or traction belts) with the bulk order. Confirm if they can provide video technical support or English-language maintenance manuals for your local engineering team.

Beyond the standard Commercial Invoice and Packing List, you must ensure the HS Code (typically 9402.90) is correctly declared. You will need the Certificate of Origin (CO) to benefit from preferential tariffs and, most importantly, the Import License for Medical Devices required by your local Ministry of Health or equivalent regulatory body.
