Kerosene lamps manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize material durability and safety engineering. For the body, cold-rolled steel with powder coating or high-quality brass is preferred to prevent corrosion. The globe must be made of borosilicate heat-resistant glass to withstand high thermal expansion without cracking. Additionally, ensure the wick adjustment mechanism is smooth and made of non-corrosive alloys to prevent jamming during long-term use.

Compliance is critical due to the fire risk associated with liquid fuel. For the European market, products must often adhere to EN 14059, which specifies safety requirements for decorative oil lamps to reduce the risk of accidental poisoning (especially for children). For the US market, ensure the product meets ASTM safety standards. Always verify that the fuel tank is leak-tested and that the lamp includes a stable base design to prevent tipping.

Perform a burn-time efficiency test to calculate fuel consumption per hour. Check for smoke emission levels; a high-quality lamp should produce a steady flame with minimal soot when using standard kerosene. Furthermore, test the brightness (lumens) and the effectiveness of the windproof chimney design, especially if the lamps are intended for outdoor or camping use.

Suppliers generally offer OEM services including custom color pantones, logo embossing on the metal base, and etched patterns on the glass globe. For high-end gift markets, you can request specialized packaging such as reinforced color boxes with molded foam inserts to ensure zero breakage during cross-border transit.

The biggest risk is fragility and breakage. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrap or EPE foam for each glass component. It is highly recommended to use palletized shipping for bulk orders to minimize manual handling shocks. Ensure your contract includes a breakage allowance clause (typically 2-3%) and specifies that the supplier is liable for damage exceeding this limit due to poor packaging.

Focus on volume-based tiered pricing. For kerosene lamps, raw material costs (steel/glass) fluctuate; therefore, try to lock in a 6-month price guarantee for repeat orders. If you are a startup, negotiate a lower MOQ for the first trial order by offering to pay a slightly higher unit price, which can be credited back to your account upon the first full-container load (FCL) order.

Kerosene lamps are usually classified under HS Code 940550. While the lamps themselves are not hazardous, they must be shipped completely free of fuel residues. Ensure the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for any included wicks or accessories is provided. For shipping to the US or EU, verify if there are any anti-dumping duties currently applicable to glassware or metalware from the specific manufacturing region.

Utilize the Secured Trading services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Never wire the full amount upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm. Additionally, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the quality matches the approved sample before the final payment is released.
