Kids toy gun manufacturers

Safety is the most critical factor. You must ensure products comply with ASTM F963 (USA), EN71 (Europe), or ISO 8124 (International). Specifically, toy guns must have a permanent blaze orange plug at the tip of the barrel (at least 6mm) to prevent them from being mistaken for real firearms. Additionally, verify that materials are BPA-free, lead-free, and phthalate-regulated to meet chemical safety requirements.

Focus on the ABS plastic grade; high-impact ABS ensures the toy won't shatter into sharp pieces if dropped. For battery-operated or electric models (AEG), check the gearbox material (nylon vs. metal) and motor heat dissipation. Request a drop test report and a cycle test report (e.g., ensuring the trigger mechanism survives 5,000+ pulls) to minimize high return rates due to mechanical failure.

For toddlers (3-6), prioritize light and sound effects with low decibel levels to protect hearing. For older children (8+), focus on projectile velocity (FPS); ensure it stays within safe limits (typically under 100-150 FPS for foam blasters) to avoid eye injuries. Always confirm if the product includes protective eyewear or if you need to source it separately as a bundle.

Yes, most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. For orders exceeding 1,000–2,000 units, you can usually customize the color scheme, logo printing (silk screen or water transfer), and bespoke packaging. Ensure your design does not infringe on existing firearm trademarks or popular media intellectual property (IP) to avoid customs seizures.

Toy guns are often flagged by customs X-ray scanners. To avoid delays, ensure the Commercial Invoice and Packing List clearly state 'TOY GUN FOR CHILDREN' and include the HS Code (typically 950300). Provide clear photos showing the orange tip and non-lethal mechanism in the shipping documentation to prevent the shipment from being classified as 'imitation firearms,' which are prohibited in many jurisdictions.

Look for 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Check their Business License to ensure their scope includes 'Toy Manufacturing.' Prioritize suppliers with a high 'Trust Score' and those who have been members for 5+ years, as they are more likely to understand international toy safety regulations.

Negotiate based on Total Landed Cost. Ask for a breakdown of material costs vs. assembly costs. For payment, use Secured Trading Services or Letter of Credit (L/C) for large volumes. Never pay 100% upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) after a successful Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) is the industry best practice.

If the toy guns include Lithium batteries, they must be shipped under UN38.3 regulations. Sea freight is most cost-effective for bulk, but ensure the containers are moisture-proof to prevent damage to electronic components. For small trial orders, use specialized couriers experienced in handling 'sensitive goods' to ensure smooth transit through air cargo security.
