Led bulb housing manufacturers

The most common materials include Thermal Conductive Plastics, Aluminum (Die-cast or Extruded), and Plastic-Clad Aluminum. Aluminum offers the highest thermal conductivity, essential for high-wattage bulbs to prevent lumen depreciation. Plastic-clad aluminum is a cost-effective hybrid providing good insulation and heat dissipation, while pure thermal plastics are preferred for lightweight requirements and electrical safety (insulation).

Buyers must evaluate the Thermal Conductivity Coefficient (W/m·K) of the material. For high-power LEDs, a housing with integrated heat sinks or fin designs is necessary to increase the surface area. Ensure the housing design allows for a junction temperature below 85°C to guarantee a lifespan of >30,000 hours.

For the US market, housings must comply with UL 94-V0 flammability ratings to ensure fire safety. For the EU, CE and RoHS certification are mandatory to verify the absence of hazardous substances. Additionally, check for IP ratings (e.g., IP20 for indoor, IP65 for outdoor) to ensure the housing provides adequate protection against dust and moisture.

The housing is usually paired with a PC (Polycarbonate) or Glass cover. A frosted or milky PC cover provides better light diffusion and hides the LED chips, but may reduce light transmission by 10-15%. High-transmittance covers (up to 92% transmission) are vital for maximizing Luminous Efficacy (lm/W).

Request a Material Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) and a UL Yellow Card for the plastic resins used. Conduct a drop test on samples from a height of 1.2 meters. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party verification of their production facilities and material sourcing.

Focus on Molding Costs and Ownership. For custom designs, negotiate whether the mold fee is refundable after reaching a specific order volume (e.g., 50,000 units). Also, discuss the scrap rate allowance; professional manufacturers should maintain a defect rate of less than 0.5% for mass production.

LED housings, especially those with PC covers, are prone to scratching and deformation. Ensure the supplier uses blister packaging or PE bags for individual units and 5-layer corrugated export cartons. For sea freight, verify that the packaging is moisture-proof to prevent oxidation of aluminum components during transit.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the buyer confirms receipt of goods. Always insist on a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the dimensions (e.g., E27/B22 base fit) and thermal properties match the approved samples.
