Lighters price manufacturers

When sourcing lighters, safety is the absolute priority. You must ensure the product complies with ISO 9994, which specifies safety standards for flame height, resistance to dropping, and extinction. For the US market, ASTM F400 compliance is mandatory. Always verify the pressure resistance of the fuel tank; high-quality lighters use AS or Nylon materials that can withstand temperatures up to 65 degrees Celsius without leaking or exploding.

Flint lighters are cost-effective but require manual friction and are susceptible to moisture. Electronic (Piezoelectric) lighters offer a more consistent ignition with a simple click and are the most popular for retail. Plasma (Arc) lighters are rechargeable via USB, windproof, and eco-friendly as they do not use butane gas, making them ideal for the high-end gift market and outdoor enthusiasts.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com typically offer OEM/ODM services. You can customize the body wrap (PVC heat shrink or sticker), silk-screen printing for logos, and even the color of the flame. For premium orders, consider zinc alloy casings with laser engraving. Ensure the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for customized printing is usually between 10,000 to 50,000 pieces due to the high-speed nature of production lines.

The price is heavily influenced by the gas volume (measured in grams) and the valve type. Fixed-flame valves are often cheaper and safer for certain markets, while adjustable valves offer user convenience. High-precision valves prevent gas leakage, which is the leading cause of shelf-life expiration. Cheaper lighters often use recycled plastic, which is more brittle; always insist on virgin plastic resins for the fuel tank.

Lighters are classified as Class 2.1 Dangerous Goods (UN1057). They cannot be shipped via standard air mail or express. You must use specialized DG (Dangerous Goods) containers for sea freight. Ensure the supplier provides a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Dangerous Goods Declaration. Shipping 'empty' lighters (without gas) can significantly reduce freight costs and regulatory hurdles.

Always use the Secured Trading Service on Made-in-China.com to protect your payment. Do not transfer funds directly to private accounts. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspector to verify the ISO certifications and production capacity before releasing the final 70% payment. This ensures the goods meet the agreed-upon safety specifications.

Be wary of prices that are significantly lower than the market average, as this often indicates thin-walled tanks or low-grade butane gas that may leak during transit. Negotiate based on Total Landed Cost, including the high cost of DG shipping and customs duties. Ask for pre-shipment samples from the actual mass production batch to test the ignition rate (should be ≥98%).

Beyond the standard invoice and packing list, you must request the Export License for Dangerous Goods and the Certificate for Safe Transport of Chemical Goods. For the European market, ensure the products have CR (Child Resistant) mechanisms and REACH certification for the plastic components to avoid customs seizures.
