Maximum demand meter manufacturers

When sourcing a Maximum Demand Meter, you must prioritize accuracy class (typically Class 0.5s or 1.0) to ensure precise billing and monitoring. Key specifications include the integration period (usually adjustable between 5, 15, or 30 minutes), rated current (5A or 1A for CT-operated types), and auxiliary power supply range. Ensure the device features a non-volatile memory to retain demand data during power outages and a clear LCD display for real-time monitoring of peak loads.

For global trade, the meters must adhere to IEC 62053-21/22 for electricity metering equipment. If exporting to Europe, CE marking and MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) compliance are essential. For the North American market, look for UL listing or ANSI C12.20 standards. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides RoHS certification to guarantee the absence of hazardous substances in the electronic components.

Modern industrial energy management requires seamless data flow. You should select meters that support RS485 communication interfaces with the Modbus-RTU protocol as a standard. For advanced IoT applications, verify if the supplier offers RJ45 (Ethernet), DLMS/COSEM, or wireless options like LoRaWAN/NB-IoT. Compatibility with existing SCADA or Energy Management Software (EMS) is critical for automated peak-shaving and load-shedding strategies.

These meters are primarily used in industrial plants and commercial complexes to monitor peak power consumption and avoid hefty penalties from utility companies for exceeding contracted demand. They are also vital for sub-billing in shopping malls, monitoring transformer load efficiency, and optimizing energy usage in data centers where power stability and cost control are paramount.

Always request a Type Test Report from an independent laboratory (such as KEMA or CNAS) before placing a bulk order. Utilize Made-in-China.com's 'Audit Reports' to verify the manufacturer's production capacity and quality control systems. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify accuracy calibration and build quality.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a longer warranty period (ideally 24-36 months) and ask for spare units (1-2%) to be included in large shipments to cover potential DOA (Dead on Arrival) cases. For long-term partnerships, request customized firmware or OEM branding at a lower MOQ to enhance your market competitiveness.

Maximum Demand Meters contain sensitive electronic circuits and LCDs. Ensure the contract specifies anti-static packaging and moisture-proof vacuum sealing. The outer cartons should be double-walled corrugated fiberboard with sufficient cushioning. For sea freight, ensure the use of desiccants inside the packaging to prevent humidity damage during transit through different climate zones.

Use Secure Payment services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after confirmation of shipment. Stay updated on Import Duties and HS Codes (typically 9028.30) for your specific country to avoid customs delays. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to take advantage of any applicable Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that might reduce your import tariffs.
