Mequinol methoxyphenol manufacturers

Mequinol, also known as 4-Methoxyphenol or hydroquinone monomethyl ether (MeHQ), serves two primary roles. In the chemical industry, it is a highly effective polymerization inhibitor for monomers like acrylics, methacrylates, and vinyl acetate, preventing premature polymerization during storage and transport. In the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors, it is utilized as a depigmenting agent and a chemical intermediate for synthesizing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

For industrial stabilization, a purity of ≥99.5% is standard. However, for pharmaceutical or high-end cosmetic applications, buyers should demand ≥99.9% purity with strictly controlled impurity profiles. Key parameters include melting point (52-55°C), color (APHA ≤10), and moisture content (<0.1%). Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and a Gas Chromatography (GC) report to verify these levels before shipment.

Mequinol is a regulated chemical. Suppliers must provide a comprehensive Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) compliant with GHS standards. For European markets, ensure the supplier is REACH registered. For pharmaceutical use, the facility should ideally hold GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification. Additionally, verify compliance with local environmental and hazardous material handling regulations, as Mequinol is classified as an irritant and harmful if swallowed.

Mequinol is sensitive to light and heat. It must be stored in tightly sealed, light-resistant containers (often fiber drums with PE liners) in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Because it acts as an inhibitor by reacting with oxygen, a controlled oxygen headspace is sometimes necessary for its inhibitory function in monomers. Ensure the supplier uses UN-approved packaging for international transit to prevent contamination or degradation.

The primary risks include purity fluctuations between sample and bulk batches, and logistical delays due to its classification as a chemical substance. To mitigate this, use third-party inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to perform pre-shipment testing. Ensure the supplier on Made-in-China.com is a 'Diamond Member' or 'Audited Supplier' to verify their manufacturing legitimacy.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers; chemical manufacturers often offer significant discounts for FCL (Full Container Load) versus LCL. Negotiate staggered payment terms (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% against Bill of Lading) to protect cash flow. For long-term contracts, include a price adjustment clause linked to raw material (hydroquinone/methanol) market indices.

Mequinol requires specific HS Code classification (typically 290949). Ensure all shipping documents—Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and COA—match the labels on the drums exactly. For sea freight, confirm the carrier accepts non-DG (Dangerous Goods) or specific DG classes depending on the concentration and local port regulations. Always clarify Incoterms (FOB vs. CIF) to determine who bears the risk during the maritime leg.

Utilize Secured Trading services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to personal accounts. Conduct a factory audit or request a video walkthrough of the production line and laboratory to confirm the supplier is a genuine manufacturer rather than a small trading house with no quality control.
