Mini screw conveyors manufacturers

When sourcing mini screw conveyors, focus on the screw diameter (typically 50mm to 150mm) and the pitch, as these determine the flow rate. Ensure the motor power is sufficient for the material density; for high-density powders, a geared motor with high torque is essential. Additionally, verify the material of construction, such as Grade 304 or 316 stainless steel for food and chemical applications to prevent corrosion and contamination.

Material characteristics dictate the design. For cohesive or sticky materials, request a shaftless screw design to prevent clogging. For fragile granules, ensure the clearance between the screw flight and the tube is optimized to minimize particle breakage. Always provide the supplier with the bulk density, moisture content, and flowability (angle of repose) of your material to ensure the incline angle of the conveyor is technically feasible.

For international trade, ensure the equipment carries the CE Marking for machinery safety. If used in hazardous environments (like flour mills or chemical plants), ATEX or Ex-proof certification for the motor and control box is mandatory to prevent dust explosions. For food-grade requirements, the unit must comply with FDA or EC 1935/2004 standards regarding food contact materials and smooth weld finishes (Ra < 0.8μm).

Mini screw conveyors are ideal for dosing and metering systems where precision is required. They are widely used in pharmaceutical packaging lines, additive feeding in plastic extrusion, and small-scale food processing. Their compact footprint makes them perfect for integrating into existing production skids or transferring materials from bulk bags to hoppers in confined spaces.

Request a Fatigue Test Video or a Live Video Inspection using a material similar to yours before final payment. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, you can utilize Third-Party Inspection services (such as SGS or BV) to verify the mechanical integrity and dimensions against the Proforma Invoice (PI) specifications before the crate is sealed.

Don't just negotiate on the unit price; negotiate on the spare parts package. Ask for an extra set of seals, bearings, and a replacement motor capacitor to be included in the price. Furthermore, define the warranty terms clearly, ensuring it covers core components for at least 12-24 months, and confirm that the supplier provides English-language technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

Mini screw conveyors are susceptible to bending if not supported correctly. Insist on ISPM-15 compliant heat-treated wooden crates with internal bracing and anti-vibration padding. For sea freight, ensure the machine is wrapped in VCI (Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor) film to prevent rust caused by salty sea air during the transit to your destination country.

Verify the HS Code (typically 842833 for belt/screw conveyors) with your local customs broker to determine the exact import duties and VAT. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO), which may qualify you for reduced tariffs under specific Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) between China and your country.
