Nike clothing manufacturers

When sourcing branded apparel like Nike, the most critical step is verifying the Letter of Authorization (LOA) or a valid resale license. Professional buyers should prioritize suppliers on Made-in-China.com who possess Audited Supplier status. You must ensure the supplier has a documented supply chain traceability report to prove the goods originate from authorized factories or official clearinghouses to avoid counterfeit risks.

For Nike-style performance wear, focus on Dri-FIT technology equivalents, which require a specific blend of polyester and spandex. Key metrics include moisture-wicking rates (g/m²/24h), fabric weight (GSM), and four-way stretch elasticity. Ensure the garments meet ISO 105-C06 for colorfastness to washing and ISO 12947-2 for abrasion resistance to guarantee long-term durability under athletic use.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (especially for children's wear) and FTC labeling requirements (fiber content, country of origin, and RN number). For the EU, adherence to REACH regulations regarding chemical substances and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for textile safety is essential. Always request Third-Party Inspection Reports from agencies like SGS or Intertek before final shipment.

To maximize ROI, buyers should target off-season inventory clearances or bulk stocklots, where discounts can reach 40-60% off MSRP. For custom OEM orders inspired by athletic trends, increasing the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) to over 1,000 pieces typically triggers a 15-25% reduction in unit price. Additionally, utilizing FOB (Free On Board) terms allows buyers to better control freight costs compared to CIF.

The biggest risk is Intellectual Property (IP) infringement and subsequent customs seizure. To mitigate this, always ensure your supplier provides a formal commercial invoice that matches the authorization documents. Use Secured Payment services on Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the goods pass quality inspection and shipping verification.

Focus on long-term volume commitments rather than one-off deals. Negotiate for favorable payment terms, such as a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Ask for 'Grade A' stock guarantees in writing to ensure that the shipment does not contain 'B-grade' or defective factory seconds.

For high-value branded clothing, Air Freight is recommended for initial market testing to ensure speed-to-market, while Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) should be used for bulk replenishment to minimize overhead. Ensure the provider uses vacuum packaging to reduce volumetric weight and protects the cargo with moisture-proof inner linings to prevent mildew during transit.

Buyers must stay informed about Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) and specific Tariff Classifications (HS Codes), such as 6109.10 for cotton T-shirts. Check if your country has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the shipping origin, which could potentially reduce import duties to zero or preferential rates.
