Nike jacket manufacturers

When sourcing branded apparel like Nike, the most critical factor is authorized distribution. You must request the supplier's Brand Authorization Letter or Invoices from Authorized Distributors to ensure the products are genuine. For quality, focus on Dri-FIT technology performance, YKK zipper fluidity, and heat-sealed logo durability. Ensure the stitching density is consistent (usually 10-12 stitches per inch) and that the wash care labels include the correct RN number and style code that matches Nike's official database.

For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) regarding lead and phthalates in zippers and toggles. For the EU, REACH regulation compliance is mandatory to ensure no harmful azo dyes or chemicals are present. Technically, you should specify GSM (Grams per Square Meter) for the fabric weight, colorfastness to perspiration (Grade 4 or higher), and hydrostatic pressure ratings if the jacket is marketed as waterproof or water-resistant.

Calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by including the unit price, customs duties (which can be high for textiles), and international freight. For Nike products, margins are often slim, so look for suppliers on Made-in-China.com who offer tiered pricing; typically, a volume of 500+ units can reduce the per-unit cost by 15-20%. Also, factor in the seasonal lifecycle—procuring 'past-season' stock can significantly increase your profit margins compared to current-season releases.

The biggest risk is Customs Seizure due to suspected intellectual property (IP) infringement. If the supplier cannot provide a valid Trademark Authorization, customs in the destination country may confiscate and destroy the goods. To mitigate this, always use Trade Assurance services and ensure the Bill of Lading accurately reflects the brand and quantity to maintain transparency with customs authorities.

Focus on Lead Time Guarantees and Defect Rates. Negotiate a Quality Claim Period (e.g., 30-60 days after arrival) during which the supplier is responsible for any manufacturing defects. For large orders, negotiate a 30/70 payment term (30% deposit, 70% balance after passing a third-party pre-shipment inspection by agencies like SGS or Intertek).

For high-value branded jackets, Air Freight is preferred for smaller, high-turnover batches to reduce the risk of theft and moisture damage during long sea transit. If using Sea Freight, ensure the use of desiccant silica gel packs in every carton and palletization with shrink wrap to prevent 'carton dropping' and pilferage. Always purchase Marine Cargo Insurance covering 110% of the CIF value.
