Partial discharge measurement manufacturers

When sourcing PD measurement tools, prioritize sensitivity and frequency range. Ensure the device supports a wide bandwidth (typically 100 kHz to 2 GHz for UHF sensors) to detect various discharge types. Look for a high sampling rate (at least 100 MS/s) to capture fast transients accurately. Additionally, verify the dynamic range to ensure the equipment can handle both low-level signals and high-energy discharges without saturation.

The equipment must strictly adhere to IEC 60270, which is the primary international standard for high-voltage partial discharge measurements. For specific applications, ensure compliance with IEEE 400.3 (for shielded power cable systems) and IEC 62478 (for electromagnetic PD detection). For export to Europe, a CE marking is mandatory, while UL certification is preferred for the North American market.

Effective PD measurement requires advanced noise cancellation technology. Look for features like hardware gating, digital filtering, and Time-of-Flight (ToF) analysis to distinguish between internal PD and external electromagnetic interference (EMI). Suppliers offering Pulse Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) and Pulse Sequence Analysis (PSA) patterns provide better diagnostic clarity in noisy industrial environments.

Selection depends on the asset being tested: High-Frequency Current Transformers (HFCT) are ideal for cable terminations and ground leads; Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) sensors are best for metal-clad switchgear; Ultrasonic sensors are used for detecting surface tracking and corona in open-air components; and UHF sensors are preferred for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and large power transformers.

The main risks include calibration drift during transit and damage to sensitive sensors. Ensure the supplier uses specialized shock-absorbent packaging and provides a factory calibration certificate valid for at least 12 months. It is highly recommended to use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to ensure the product meets technical specifications before final payment release.

PD measurement hardware is often tied to proprietary diagnostic software. Negotiate for lifetime free firmware updates and at least two years of remote technical support. Request a Service Level Agreement (SLA) that guarantees a response time of under 24 hours for critical diagnostic assistance, as downtime in high-voltage assets can be extremely costly.

Many portable PD detectors use high-capacity lithium batteries. These are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods. Ensure the supplier provides a UN38.3 test report and an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). For international shipping, confirm the use of IATA-compliant packaging to avoid customs delays or seizures at the port of exit.

Focus on suppliers with the 'Audited Supplier' badge. Review their Audit Reports to check their R&D capacity and testing laboratory facilities. Prioritize manufacturers who have participated in international power exhibitions and those who can provide third-party test reports from labs like KEMA or CNAS to prove the accuracy of their measurement algorithms.
