When sourcing porcelain, prioritize Fine Bone China or High-Temperature Reinforced Porcelain. Ensure the products are fired at temperatures between 1280°C and 1350°C to guarantee low water absorption (<0.5%) and high chip resistance. For B2B buyers, it is critical to verify that the glaze is lead-free and cadmium-free, complying with FDA (US) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) food contact safety standards.

Request a Thermal Shock Resistance test report; quality porcelain should withstand a temperature change from 20°C to 180°C without cracking. Additionally, confirm Dishwasher and Microwave safety through certified lab tests. For commercial use (cafes/hotels), check the edge thickness and ensure the handle is ergonomically integrated with a reinforced join point to prevent breakage during high-frequency use.

Suppliers on professional platforms like Made-in-China.com usually offer In-glaze or On-glaze decal printing, Silk-screen printing, and Laser engraving. For premium branding, consider Reactive Glaze finishes which provide a unique, artisanal look. Ensure the supplier can provide Pantone color matching for logos and offers custom packaging (e.g., drop-test certified mail-order boxes or luxury gift sets).

The price is heavily influenced by the Kaolin clay content and the whiteness index. To optimize costs, consider Standard White Porcelain for high-volume promotional items and Bone China for high-end retail. Always calculate the Total Landed Cost, accounting for the breakage rate during transit (standard acceptable rate is <3%) and the impact of Anti-Dumping Duties which may apply to ceramic tableware in certain regions like the EU.

Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and individual bubble wrapping or egg-crate dividers. For full container loads (FCL), ensure palletization with shrink wrap is used to prevent shifting. It is highly recommended to use Made-in-China.com's inspection services to verify packaging integrity before the balance payment is made.

Since these are food-contact items, you must obtain a Certificate of Compliance (CoC), a Test Report from a third-party lab (SGS/TUV/Intertek), and a CIQ (China Inspection and Quarantine) certificate. Failure to provide these can lead to customs seizure or mandatory destruction of the goods at the port of entry.

Negotiate based on Volume Tiers; typically, a 10-15% price reduction is possible when moving from a 2,000-unit order to a full 20GP container. Discuss mold costs upfront—many suppliers will refund the mold fee once the cumulative order quantity reaches a specific threshold (e.g., 10,000 units). Always clarify Incoterms (FOB is standard) to avoid hidden logistics fees.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after the shipping documents are verified. Conduct a Factory Audit or request a VR Factory Tour to confirm the supplier is a manufacturer and not a small trading company, ensuring better quality control and direct pricing.
