Rimless metal glasses frame manufacturers

For rimless designs, the material must be both lightweight and structurally rigid. Titanium (Pure Titanium or Beta-Titanium) is the gold standard due to its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and hypoallergenic properties. Stainless steel (316L) is a cost-effective alternative that offers excellent tensile strength, which is crucial since the frame relies on the lenses for structural integrity.

Pay close attention to the hinge construction and the lens attachment mechanism. Look for screwless compression mounting systems or high-quality nylon bushings that prevent the metal from directly touching the lens, reducing the risk of cracking. Ensure the bridge and temples have sufficient flexibility (memory metal) to absorb impact without deforming.

Buyers must ensure products comply with ISO 12870, which specifies requirements for unglazed spectacle frames. For the US market, FDA registration is mandatory as glasses are classified as Class I medical devices. For the EU, CE marking and compliance with REACH regulations (specifically regarding Nickel release levels) are essential to avoid customs seizures.

Rimless frames require specific lens materials. You must advise your customers to use high-index plastic (1.60, 1.67) or Polycarbonate/Trivex lenses, as standard CR-39 plastic is too brittle and will crack at the drill points. Ensure the supplier provides accurate drilling templates or CAD files to facilitate precise lens processing.

Request a Salt Spray Test report (typically 24 to 48 hours) to ensure the plating won't peel or corrode when exposed to sweat. For premium orders, specify IP (Ion Plating) rather than traditional electroplating, as it offers superior wear resistance and color longevity.

Rimless frames are prone to bending during transit. Ensure the supplier uses individual hard cases or protective vacuum-formed trays within the master carton. Use double-walled corrugated boxes and specify palletization for large sea freight orders to minimize manual handling damage.

When sourcing via Made-in-China.com, clarify the laser engraving capabilities for your logo on the inner temple. Negotiate a tiered MOQ where the initial sample order is small, but the unit price drops by 15-20% once you hit the 500-piece threshold. Always request a pre-production sample with your logo before full-scale manufacturing.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by the platform to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. For high-value titanium orders, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Random Sampling Inspection at the factory to verify material purity and quantity before final payment.
