Shaker screens price manufacturers

The price is primarily driven by the mesh count (API RP 13C designation) and the wire cloth material. High-quality screens utilize SS304 or SS316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance. Additionally, the frame type—whether composite, steel-framed, or hook-strip—significantly impacts the cost. Composite frames generally command a higher price due to their longer service life and resistance to fluid degradation, whereas steel frames are more economical but prone to rust.

Screens with triple-layer mesh designs or pyramid (3D) surfaces are more expensive than flat, single-layer screens. The 3D design increases the effective filtration area by up to 40%, allowing for higher flow rates. While the initial investment is higher, the cost-per-barrel of fluid processed is often lower due to increased efficiency and reduced screen blinding.

Buyers must ensure that the supplier adheres to the API RP 13C (ISO 13501) standard. This ensures that the cut point (D100) and conductance are accurately labeled. Requesting a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and verifying the wire diameter consistency are essential steps to avoid purchasing sub-standard products that could lead to premature failure or loss of expensive drilling fluids.

For top-hole drilling with high solids content, coarser screens (API 20-60) are used, which are cheaper. For reservoir sections, fine mesh screens (API 140-325) are required to protect the formation, which carry a premium price. In Oil-Based Mud (OBM) applications, composite frames are highly recommended to prevent frame-to-mesh separation caused by chemical reactions.

The most significant risk is mesh tension loss during transit or due to poor manufacturing, which leads to rapid screen tearing. Another risk is counterfeit API labeling. To mitigate this, buyers should use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and request third-party pre-shipment inspections (like SGS or Intertek) to verify the mesh tension and wire thickness.

Negotiation should focus on Annual Purchase Agreements (APA) rather than one-off spot buys. Suppliers often offer 15-25% discounts for container-load orders (FCL). Additionally, negotiating customized packaging (e.g., reinforced wooden crates) can reduce the risk of damage during sea freight, which is a hidden cost in cross-border trade.

Shaker screens are sensitive to pressure and moisture. Ensure the contract specifies vacuum-sealed plastic wrapping for each screen and heavy-duty corrugated boxes. For shipping to remote oilfields, choose CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to ensure the supplier handles the complexities of international transit insurance, protecting you against mid-transit damage.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have a proven track record in the petroleum equipment sector. Always use Escrow-based payment terms where funds are only released upon the presentation of a clean Bill of Lading and successful quality verification. Avoid suppliers who cannot provide material MTRs (Material Test Reports) for the stainless steel mesh.
