Shoes second hand branded original manufacturers

Authenticity is the most critical factor. You must require the supplier to provide detailed photos of the inner labels, insoles, and stitching patterns. Professional B2B buyers should look for suppliers who employ certified in-house authenticators or provide third-party authentication certificates for high-value brands like Nike, Adidas, or luxury labels. Always request a video inspection of the sorting process to ensure that 'original' branded items are not being mixed with high-quality counterfeits.

Second-hand shoes are typically categorized into grades: Grade A (Cream Grade) represents items with minimal wear, no visible stains, and original laces/insoles; Grade B may show slight signs of use but no structural damage or holes; Grade C is for budget markets and may require cleaning or minor repairs. Ensure your contract specifies the percentage of Grade A items allowed in a bale to avoid receiving low-quality stock.

To comply with international health standards, suppliers must perform professional cleaning and disinfection. Ask for a Fumigation Certificate or a Disinfection Certificate, which is often required by customs in many countries. The shoes should be free of odor, mold, and persistent dirt, and ideally, each pair should be individually wrapped in transparent polybags to maintain hygiene during transit.

Used shoe bales are often sold by weight (e.g., 25kg or 50kg sacks). You must negotiate a customized size ratio (e.g., a higher percentage of US sizes 8-11 for North American markets or smaller sizes for Southeast Asia). A reputable supplier on Made-in-China.com will provide a packing list detailing the breakdown of men’s, women’s, and children’s sizes within each shipment.

The primary risk is Intellectual Property (IP) infringement if the goods are found to be counterfeit during customs inspection, which can lead to seizure of the entire container and heavy fines. Additionally, there is the risk of 'weight padding', where suppliers include heavy, non-branded items to meet weight requirements. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or BV) to audit the loading process.

Pricing for second-hand shoes is volatile. Negotiate based on price per kilogram or price per pair depending on the grade. For new partnerships, avoid 100% upfront payments; instead, opt for a 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). Mention that you are looking for a long-term supply chain partner to secure better 'Cream Grade' allocations, as top-tier stock is often reserved for loyal clients.

Many countries have strict regulations on 'solid waste' imports. Ensure the HS Code used is for 'Used Footwear' (typically 6309.00) and not waste materials. You must verify if your country requires a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). For shipping, 40ft HC containers are the most cost-effective for used shoes, as they can hold approximately 800 to 900 bales, significantly lowering the landed cost per pair.
