Short sleeve tshirt manufacturers

When sourcing T-shirts, the fabric weight (GSM - Grams per Square Meter) is a critical indicator of quality. For standard promotional shirts, 140-160 GSM is common, while premium or 'heavyweight' streetwear styles require 200-240 GSM. You should prioritize 100% Combed Cotton for superior softness and lower impurity levels compared to carded cotton. For athletic use, ensure the supplier uses Moisture-Wicking Polyester or Spandex blends (5-8%) to provide necessary elasticity and shape retention after multiple washes.

The choice of technology depends on your volume and design complexity. Screen Printing is the most cost-effective for large bulk orders (500+ units) with limited colors. For high-detail, multi-color designs or small batches, DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing offers the best resolution. If you are sourcing for a sports brand, Sublimation Printing is essential as it fuses ink into the fabric, ensuring the design never cracks or peels even under heavy physical stress.

To ensure market entry and consumer safety, verify that the supplier holds an OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the textile is free from harmful chemicals. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) is mandatory, especially for children's apparel. If your brand focuses on sustainability, look for GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) to validate eco-friendly claims.

Size deviation is a common risk in garment manufacturing. You must request a Size Specification Chart and insist on a Tolerance Level of ±1cm to 1.5cm. It is highly recommended to use Pre-shrunk Fabric to ensure the T-shirt maintains its dimensions after the first wash. Always request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) to verify the fit against your target market's sizing standards (Asian vs. European vs. US sizing).

The biggest risks are Color Variance (Dyelot differences) and Quality Inconsistency between the sample and bulk production. To mitigate this, use Trade Messenger tools on Made-in-China.com to document all specifications. Always hire a Third-Party Inspection (like SGS or Intertek) to perform an AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection before the final payment is released.

Apparel pricing is highly sensitive to volume. Negotiate based on Fabric Consolidation; if you use the same fabric color across different sizes or styles, suppliers are more likely to lower the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). Aim for a tiered pricing structure where the unit cost drops by 10-15% when moving from 500 to 2,000 units.

For T-shirts, Vacuum Packaging can significantly reduce the volume of the shipment, lowering Sea Freight costs by up to 20%. For urgent seasonal launches, consider Sea-Air combined transport. Ensure your supplier provides a detailed Packing List and Commercial Invoice that matches the HS Code for T-shirts (typically 6109.10) to avoid customs delays and incorrect duty applications.

Always conduct transactions through Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Avoid using direct wire transfers to private accounts. Utilize Audit Reports available on the platform to verify if the supplier is a 'Full Verified' manufacturer or a middleman, ensuring you are dealing directly with the source of production.
