Silicon purse manufacturers

When sourcing silicon purses, the primary focus must be on Food-Grade or Medical-Grade Silicone. Ensure the material is BPA-free and complies with FDA (USA) or LFGB (Europe) standards, as these products often come into contact with skin or personal items. High-quality silicone should have a Shore A hardness of 40-60 to balance flexibility with structural integrity, ensuring the purse does not lose its shape over time.

The longevity of a silicon purse often depends on its hardware. You should specify electroplated zinc alloy or stainless steel for zippers and clasps to prevent rust and corrosion. Request salt spray testing reports (typically 24-48 hours) to ensure the hardware can withstand humid environments. For 'squeeze-to-open' coin purses, verify the spring steel frame's fatigue resistance, ensuring it can withstand at least 5,000 opening cycles without deformation.

Most silicon purses are produced via Compression Molding. For complex 3D shapes or multi-color designs, ask if the supplier uses Integrated Multi-color Injection or Silk-screen Printing with PU coating. The PU coating is essential as it provides a dust-proof finish, preventing the silicone from feeling 'sticky' and attracting lint. If you require custom logos, debossed or embossed molds are more durable than surface printing.

Beyond material safety, ensure the product meets REACH (EU) and CPSIA (US) requirements, especially regarding lead and phthalate content in dyes. If the purse is marketed for children, it must pass EN71 (Parts 1-3) testing for physical safety and flammability. Always request a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) from a third-party lab like SGS or TUV before finalizing the shipment.

A strong odor usually indicates 'blooming' or incomplete vulcanization. To avoid this, require the supplier to perform a Post-Curing process (4 hours at 200°C). This stabilizes the material and removes volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Include a clause in your contract stating that products with persistent chemical odors will be rejected during the Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI).

Silicon purses are lightweight but can be bulky. To optimize costs, use vacuum packaging to reduce volume or request flat-packed shipping if the design allows. For mid-sized orders, Sea + Delivery (LDP/DDP) is often the most economical choice. For high-value or seasonal launches, Air Freight is viable, but ensure you calculate the volumetric weight (LWH/6000) to avoid surprise charges.

For custom shapes, suppliers will charge a Mold Fee (Tooling Fee). Negotiate a Mold Fee Refund Policy: for example, if your cumulative order reaches 5,000 or 10,000 units, the supplier should credit the initial mold cost back to your account. Always ensure the contract specifies that the buyer owns the intellectual property and the physical mold, even if it is stored at the supplier's factory.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your deposit. Never wire 100% of the payment upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) or after a successful third-party quality inspection is the industry benchmark for risk mitigation.
