Stick chewing gum manufacturers

When evaluating stick chewing gum, the gum base quality is paramount as it dictates the texture and 'chewability.' Buyers should specify the sugar content (sugar-free options using Xylitol or Sorbitol are currently high in demand due to health trends). Additionally, ensure the flavor longevity meets industry standards, typically requiring encapsulated flavor technology to ensure the taste lasts for at least 15-20 minutes of active chewing. For packaging, verify the use of aluminum foil inner wraps to maintain moisture levels and prevent the gum from becoming brittle.

As a food product, stick chewing gum must adhere to strict safety regulations. Suppliers must possess HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management) certifications. For specific markets, FDA approval is required for the U.S., while EFSA compliance is necessary for Europe. If targeting specific demographics, ensure the supplier can provide Halal or Kosher certifications. Always request a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every production batch to verify ingredient safety and heavy metal limits.

Stick chewing gum generally has a shelf life of 18 to 24 months. To ensure stability, the product must be stored in a cool, dry place (temperature <25°C, humidity <50%). During the sourcing process, ask for accelerated aging test reports from the manufacturer. The outer display box should be shrink-wrapped to provide an extra barrier against environmental factors during cross-border transit, especially when passing through tropical shipping routes.

The most significant risk is Customs Rejection due to non-compliant labeling or unapproved additives (like certain artificial colors). To mitigate this, always provide your supplier with the specific labeling requirements of your destination country, including language translations, ingredient lists, and nutritional facts. Another risk is temperature damage during sea freight; for large orders, consider using reefer containers or scheduling shipments to avoid peak summer heat to prevent the gum sticks from softening or sticking to the wrappers.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume; for stick gum, price breaks often occur at the 20ft container (FCL) level. Request OEM/Private Labeling services early in the negotiation, as custom printing for wrappers usually requires a higher MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). Ask for a sample kit containing various flavors and textures before committing to a bulk order. On Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party verification of their manufacturing facilities.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by the platform to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. For large-scale B2B orders, use Letter of Credit (L/C) or Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) with a deposit (e.g., 30%) and the balance paid against the Bill of Lading (B/L). It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify quantity, packaging integrity, and sensory quality before the container is sealed.
