Stripes fabric manufacturers

When sourcing stripes fabric, you must prioritize material composition (e.g., 100% cotton, polyester-cotton blends, or linen) and fabric weight (GSM), which determines the drape and durability. For apparel, a weight of 120-180 GSM is standard, while upholstery requires 250+ GSM. Additionally, verify the yarn-dyed vs. printed method; yarn-dyed stripes offer superior colorfastness and a premium feel as the pattern is woven into the fabric rather than stamped on the surface.

Ensure the supplier provides OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to guarantee the fabric is free from harmful substances. For specific markets, check for REACH compliance (EU) or CPSIA (US) if the fabric is intended for children's wear. You should also request ISO 105-C06 lab reports for colorfastness to washing to ensure the stripes do not bleed or fade after multiple cycles.

Depending on the end-use, look for anti-pilling finishes (Grade 4 or higher) and shrinkage control (ideally within +/- 3%). For outdoor or marine applications, ensure the fabric has UV resistance and water-repellent coatings. If the fabric is for shirting, a mercerized finish will provide a silk-like luster and increased tensile strength.

Request a pre-shipment sample to check for bowing and skewing; the stripes must be perfectly horizontal or vertical with a deviation of less than 2%. For bulk orders, confirm the repeat size (the distance between the start of one stripe and the next) to ensure consistency across different production batches, which is critical for pattern matching during garment construction.

The primary risk is color variance (dye lot differences) between the approved sample and the bulk shipment. To mitigate this, specify a Pantone color match and require the supplier to use spectrophotometer testing. Another risk is insufficient width, so always confirm the cuttable width versus the total width to avoid wastage during production.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume; for example, aim for a 10-15% discount when moving from 500 meters to 2,000 meters. Negotiate for flexible MOQs on stock colors versus custom-dyed stripes. Additionally, request Trade Assurance or secure payment terms to protect your capital until the goods pass a third-party quality inspection.

Ensure the fabric is rolled on strong cardboard tubes and wrapped in double-layer plastic packaging to prevent moisture damage and crushing during sea freight. For shipping to the US or Europe, compare FOB (Free On Board) and CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms; FOB is often preferred for larger volumes as it allows you to use your own freight forwarder for better visibility and cost control.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by independent agencies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Review their export history and check if they have experience with your specific target market, as this ensures they are familiar with the necessary customs documentation and tariff codes (HS Codes) for textiles.
