Tandem chairs manufacturers

For high-traffic areas like airports or hospitals, prioritize cold-rolled steel or aluminum alloy frames for maximum durability. Ensure the seat surface uses high-density polyurethane (PU) or perforated steel with powder coating to resist scratches and wear. For upholstered versions, the foam should be high-resilience cold-molded foam with a density of at least 45kg/m³ to prevent sagging over time.

Buyers must verify that products meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.4 for public occupancy seating, which tests for safety, durability, and structural adequacy. For fire safety, ensure compliance with BS 5852 (UK) or CAL 117 (US) standards. If sourcing for healthcare environments, look for ISO 22196 certification for antibacterial surface properties.

Look for a contoured backrest that provides lumbar support and a waterfall edge seat design to reduce pressure on the legs during long waits. Safety-wise, ensure the base is equipped with non-slip floor glides and that all metal edges are deburred and rounded to prevent injury. For outdoor use, specify UV-resistant coatings to prevent material degradation.

A top-tier supplier on Made-in-China.com should offer modular configurations ranging from 2-seater to 5-seater units, optional integrated armrests or tea tables, and floor-mounting vs. free-standing base options. Additionally, check for built-in charging ports (USB/Universal outlets), which are increasingly required for modern waiting areas.

Tandem chairs are bulky and heavy; insist on Knock-Down (KD) packaging to reduce shipping volume and costs. Ensure the supplier uses 5-layer corrugated export cartons with EPE foam padding and corner protectors. For LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, request palletization to minimize handling damage.

Focus on the weight of the raw materials (e.g., steel thickness) rather than just the unit price. Request a breakdown of the material grades used. You can often negotiate a 3-5% discount by increasing the order to a full 20GP or 40HQ container, as this optimizes the supplier's logistics and production cycle.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery is confirmed. Before placing a bulk order, hire a third-party agency like SGS or Intertek to perform a During Production Check (DPC) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI) to verify that the steel thickness and finish match the approved sample.

When shipping to the US or Europe, be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties (ADD) that may apply to certain metal furniture categories. Work with a freight forwarder experienced in DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want to avoid the complexity of local customs clearance and inland trucking from the port to your warehouse.
