Tempered glass lid manufacturers

Buyers should prioritize thermal shock resistance, typically requiring the glass to withstand a temperature difference of at least 180°C to 200°C. The glass thickness should generally range between 3.2mm and 5.0mm depending on the diameter. Ensure the stainless steel rim is made of SUS 304 or SUS 201 to prevent corrosion, and verify that the vent hole is precisely drilled to prevent pressure buildup without compromising structural integrity.

For the US market, compliance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) standards is essential. For the EU, products must meet LFGB (Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch) and EU 1935/2004 regulations regarding food contact materials. Additionally, ensure the supplier provides tempering quality reports (fragmentation tests) where a 50x50mm area must break into more than 40 to 60 pieces to ensure safety in case of breakage.

Perform a drop test from a height of 1 meter onto a wooden floor to check for impact resistance. Conduct a salt spray test on the stainless steel rim for 24-48 hours to ensure rust resistance. Finally, verify the knob's heat resistance; it should be made of Bakelite or Silicone capable of withstanding temperatures up to 150°C-200°C without deformation or toxic off-gassing.

Suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer customization for lid shapes (C-type, G-type, T-type, or flat), silicone rim colors, and laser-etched logos on the glass or steel rim. You can also request customized knob designs to match your specific cookware line, though this may increase the Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).

The biggest risk is breakage during transit due to improper palletization. Ensure the supplier uses five-layer corrugated export cartons with individual bubble wrap or cardboard dividers. It is highly recommended to use palletized shipping for LCL (Less than Container Load) orders to minimize manual handling and vibration damage.

Standard MOQs for glass lids usually start at 1,000 to 3,000 units per size. To optimize costs, try to consolidate sizes to reach higher volume tiers, which can reduce unit prices by 10-15%. When negotiating, clarify if the price includes the knob and assembly, as sourcing these separately can lead to compatibility issues and higher logistics costs.

Always use Trade Resources or secure payment channels provided by Made-in-China.com. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third party (like SGS or Intertek) to verify the fragmentation count and rim tension before the final balance is paid. This prevents the receipt of sub-standard 'annealed' glass instead of true tempered glass.

Check the HS Code (typically 7013.37 or 7010.20) for your specific country to determine import duties. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that some regions may impose on Chinese glass products. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to help you benefit from any existing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) between China and your country.
