Wholesale brand hoodies manufacturers

When sourcing wholesale hoodies, prioritize fabric weight (GSM) and composition. For premium streetwear, look for 350-500 GSM heavy fleece or French Terry. Ensure the material is pre-shrunk to prevent size distortion after washing. For performance or budget lines, a 60/40 or 80/20 Cotton-Polyester blend is ideal as it balances breathability with durability and wrinkle resistance.

The choice depends on the brand aesthetic. Screen printing is cost-effective for large volumes and offers high durability. Embroidery or 3D Puff Embroidery adds a premium, tactile feel suitable for high-end branding. For complex, multi-color designs, Direct-to-Garment (DTG) or Heat Transfer (DTF) is preferred, though you must verify the wash-fastness (Grade 4 or higher) to ensure the design doesn't crack or peel.

Compliance is critical for cross-border trade. Ensure suppliers provide OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification to guarantee the absence of harmful chemicals. For the US market, products must comply with CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act), particularly regarding drawstring safety in children's hoodies and flammability standards (16 CFR Part 1610). For the EU, REACH compliance is mandatory.

Focus on the stitching and hardware. Check for double-needle stitching on the neck, shoulders, and armholes for reinforced durability. Inspect the ribbing on cuffs and hem to ensure it has high elasticity (usually containing Spandex/Elastane) so it doesn't stretch out. For zippered hoodies, insist on YKK or SBS brand zippers to avoid mechanical failure.

Always utilize Third-Party Inspection services (such as V-Trust or SGS) before the final payment. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the bulk production matches the approved Golden Sample. On platforms like Made-in-China.com, look for Audited Suppliers who have had their manufacturing facilities verified by independent agencies.

Negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Discuss tiered pricing where the unit cost drops as your volume increases. If you are a recurring buyer, negotiate for shorter lead times or custom labeling/packaging to be included in the base price. Always clarify Incoterms (e.g., FOB vs. DDP) early to avoid hidden logistics costs.

Use Secured Payment Services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure your funds are held in escrow until shipping documents are verified. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure all specifications, including tolerance levels for sizing (e.g., +/- 1.5cm) and color matching (Pantone codes), are documented in the Proforma Invoice (PI).

Textiles often face high scrutiny. Ensure your supplier provides an accurate HS Code (typically Chapter 61 or 62) to determine correct duty rates. For small to medium batches, Air Freight or Courier (DHL/FedEx) is faster but expensive; for large wholesale orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is significantly more economical. Always confirm if your country has Anti-Dumping Duties on textiles from the specific sourcing region.
