Wholesale small toy candy manufacturers

When sourcing toy candy, you must ensure the product meets dual standards for both food and toys. The candy component must comply with FDA (US) or EFSA (EU) food additive regulations, while the toy part must adhere to EN71 (Europe) or ASTM F963 (USA). It is vital to verify that the plastic used is BPA-free and non-toxic, as these items are intended for children.

Safety is the highest priority. You must ensure the toy components pass the Small Parts Test (Choke Tube) to prevent choking hazards, especially for children under 3 years old. Look for suppliers who provide clear age-grading labels and ensure that the candy and toy are either securely separated or designed such that the toy cannot be accidentally swallowed.

Toy candy requires hermetic sealing to prevent moisture ingress and pest infestation during long-term sea freight. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each batch and that the expiry date is clearly printed. For international trade, a remaining shelf life of at least 18 to 24 months at the time of shipping is recommended to account for transit and local distribution time.

Yes, most professional manufacturers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You can customize sugar-free options, natural colorants, and unique toy molds. However, be aware that custom molds involve tooling costs and higher MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities), typically starting from 10,000 to 50,000 units depending on the complexity.

The primary risks include customs seizures due to lack of health certificates and temperature damage during transit. To mitigate these, always request a Health Certificate and Phytosanitary Certificate from the supplier. For shipping, avoid 'top-loading' in containers to prevent crushing the fragile toy components, and consider temperature-controlled containers if shipping to tropical regions.

Start by requesting pre-production samples and a Gold Sample for seal-off. In your contract, specify that the bulk production must match the approved sample's chemical and physical properties. Use Third-Party Inspection services (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Final Random Inspection (FRI) before the final payment is released.

Always use secure payment methods. We recommend using the Secured Trading Service provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Never transfer the full amount upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is the industry norm for established B2B relationships.

Different countries have specific HS Codes for 'Sugar confectionery not containing cocoa' (HS 1704) versus 'Toys' (HS 9503). Consult with a customs broker to determine the correct HS Code classification, as this affects the import duty rates and the specific import permits required by your local food and drug administration.
