Wholesale sushi box manufacturers

When sourcing wholesale sushi boxes, prioritize Food-Grade PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) for high transparency or PP (Polypropylene) if heat resistance is required. Ensure the materials are BPA-free and comply with FDA (US) or EC 1935/2004 (EU) standards. For eco-friendly lines, look for biodegradable sugarcane bagasse or PLA-coated paperboard to meet sustainability trends.

A high-quality sushi box must feature an anti-fog lid to maintain visibility under refrigeration. The locking mechanism should be a 'snap-lock' design to prevent accidental opening during transit. For premium sets, verify the internal compartment dividers are rigid enough to prevent flavor mixing between ginger, wasabi, and sushi rolls.

Suppliers must provide SGS or TUV test reports verifying heavy metal limits and migration tests. If you are importing into the EU, ensure the products carry the 'Glass and Fork' symbol. For the North American market, check for CBP (Customs and Border Protection) compliance regarding country-of-origin marking on the outer cartons.

Customized printing (logo/branding) typically requires a Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) of 10,000 to 30,000 units. Custom molds for unique shapes involve a tooling cost ranging from $500 to $2,000 and add 15-20 days to the initial lead time. Standard unprinted boxes usually ship within 7-10 business days.

The biggest risk is deformation during maritime transit due to high temperatures in containers. Always request double-wall corrugated export cartons and consider LCL (Less than Container Load) shipping in ventilated areas. Another risk is non-compliance with local plastic ban laws; verify if your target region prohibits single-use plastics before finalizing the material.

Focus on volume-based pricing tiers. Ask for a 'Sample First' policy where the sample fee is deducted from the bulk order. Negotiate Payment Terms such as 30% deposit and 70% against the Bill of Lading (B/L) to mitigate financial risk. Always use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to protect your transaction.

Since sushi boxes are lightweight but high-volume, Sea Freight (FCL/LCL) is the most economical choice. To optimize costs, ask the supplier for the stacking ratio and 'nested' packaging designs to maximize container utilization. For urgent small batches, Sea-Air combined transport offers a balance between speed and cost.
