Yard cup manufacturers

B2B buyers should prioritize Food-Grade PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) or PP (Polypropylene). PET is preferred for its high clarity and shatter resistance, making it ideal for vibrant frozen drinks. Ensure the material is BPA-free to meet global health standards. For eco-conscious markets, inquire about rPET (recycled PET) options, though clarity may vary slightly.

For the US market, products must be FDA compliant and meet California Proposition 65 requirements regarding lead and phthalates. For the EU, LFGB (Lebensmittel- und Futtermittelgesetzbuch) certification and EU Regulation No. 10/2011 on plastic materials intended to come into contact with food are essential. Always request Migration Test Reports from the supplier.

Look for flexible corrugated straws with safety caps to prevent spills in high-traffic environments. The base-to-height ratio should be balanced to prevent tipping. For branding, specify UV silk-screen printing or heat transfer printing to ensure logos do not peel when exposed to condensation or cold temperatures.

Calculate the Total Landed Cost, including the unit price, shipping volume (Yard Cups are bulky and occupy significant CBM), and import duties. To optimize costs, consider stackable designs if available, or negotiate nested packaging to reduce shipping volume. Standard MOQs usually range from 1,000 to 5,000 units for custom colors or prints.

The biggest risks are deformation during transit due to heat or pressure in containers and printing defects. To mitigate this, require double-wall corrugated export cartons and request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the printing quality and quantity match the Proforma Invoice.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume and ask for free mold customization if the order exceeds 20,000 units. Use the Audit Reports available on Made-in-China.com to verify the supplier's production capacity and export experience. Requesting a sample set (usually paid, but refundable upon bulk order) is a non-negotiable step for quality verification.

Since Yard Cups are 'light cargo,' shipping costs are often calculated by volumetric weight. For large orders, Sea Freight (FCL - Full Container Load) is the most cost-effective. If shipping to the US or Europe, ensure the supplier provides a HS Code (typically 3924.10) to accurately calculate customs duties and avoid clearance delays.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels and utilize Trade Terms like FOB (Free On Board) to maintain control over the shipping process. Ensure all specifications, including gram weight per cup, wall thickness, and packaging details, are clearly documented in the sales contract before making the initial deposit.
