Chiffon scarf manufacturers

Buyers should distinguish between Silk Chiffon (natural, high-end, breathable) and Polyester Chiffon (durable, wrinkle-resistant, cost-effective). For B2B volume, 75D or 100D (Denier) polyester chiffon is the industry standard for balancing transparency and durability. Ensure the fabric weight is specified in GSM (Grams per Square Meter), typically ranging from 50 to 80 GSM for a quality drape.

Request suppliers to use Digital Textile Printing for complex patterns or Screen Printing for large-volume simple designs. Ensure the products meet ISO 105-C06 standards for colorfastness to washing. For high-end markets, verify that the inks used are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, ensuring they are free from harmful azo dyes and chemicals.

The edge finishing is a primary quality indicator. Hand-rolled edges are preferred for luxury silk chiffon, while fine machine-baby hems or overlock stitching are standard for polyester. Check for stitch density (at least 3-4 stitches per cm) to prevent fraying, and ensure the dimensional stability is tested to avoid shrinkage exceeding 3% after washing.

For the US market, scarves must comply with 16 CFR Part 1610 (Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles). For the EU, adherence to REACH regulations regarding lead and phthalate content in dyes is mandatory. Additionally, all products must have a permanent care label indicating fiber content, country of origin, and care instructions as per FTC or EU labeling directives.

Always request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) for approval before mass production begins. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection agency to conduct a During Production Check (DUPRO) or a Final Random Inspection (FRI). On platforms like Made-in-China.com, prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site verification of their manufacturing capabilities.

Negotiate based on Total Volume rather than single designs; many suppliers will offer a lower unit price if the total fabric consumption is high, even if there are multiple SKUs. Discuss MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) flexibility—suppliers often allow lower MOQs for stock colors compared to custom-dyed pantone colors. Always clarify if the quoted price is FOB (Free On Board) to avoid hidden local logistics costs.

Chiffon is lightweight but prone to snagging. Ensure each scarf is packed in an individual moisture-proof polybag. For international shipping, use double-walled corrugated export cartons to prevent crushing. Since scarves have a high value-to-weight ratio, Air Freight is often viable for small batches, while LCL (Less than Container Load) Sea Freight is recommended for bulk orders to maximize cost-efficiency.

Utilize Secured Payment Services provided by reputable B2B platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the lead time, defect rate tolerance (usually <2%), and refund policies for non-compliant goods.
