Prioritize Platinum-cured Medical Grade Silicone or High-Quality TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer). Silicone is non-porous, hypoallergenic, and durable, while TPE offers a softer, more realistic skin-like texture. Ensure the supplier provides BPA-free and Phthalate-free certifications to prevent skin irritation and long-term health risks.

For the US market, products should ideally be FDA-compliant regarding material safety. For the EU, REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHS certifications are essential to ensure no hazardous substances are present. Always verify CE marking if the product includes electronic components (e.g., vibration functions).

Request data on Shore Hardness (Durometer); a range of 00-10 to 00-30 is typical for realistic softness. Ask for tear strength test reports to ensure the material doesn't degrade after repeated cleaning. For high-end models, look for internal ribbing or textured tunnels and integrated heating elements which enhance the functional value.

Suppliers should provide detailed cleaning protocols. Silicone products are generally boil-safe or compatible with 70% isopropyl alcohol, whereas TPE requires renewal powder (cornstarch) to prevent tackiness. Ensure the design is seamless to prevent bacterial growth in crevices.

Use discreet HS Codes such as 9023.00 (Models for demonstration) or 3926.90 (Other articles of plastics) depending on the specific design. Ensure the outer packaging is neutral with no suggestive imagery or text. Check local regulations, as some countries have strict decency laws that may lead to confiscation.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for this category, a 20-40% price drop is common when moving from 100 to 1,000 units. Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to check for air bubbles or oily discharge in TPE materials, which are common manufacturing defects.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Always order a sample first to test for 'chemical odors'—a strong smell often indicates low-grade industrial recycled plastics which are unsellable in premium markets.

For small batches, Air Express (DHL/FedEx) is fast but requires careful documentation. For bulk, Sea Freight (LCL) is most cost-effective. Ensure the bill of lading uses generic descriptions like 'Soft Plastic Crafts' or 'Silicone Mannequin Parts' to maintain privacy and reduce transit friction.
