Magnetic connector for power manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Current Rating (Amperage) and Voltage to ensure the connector can handle the power load without overheating. For high-speed charging, look for Pogo Pin designs with Gold Plating (typically 3μ-30μ) to ensure low contact resistance and high corrosion resistance. Additionally, verify the Magnetic Force (measured in grams or Newtons); a force of 300g to 800g is usually required to maintain a stable connection while allowing for a safe 'breakaway' function.

Focus on the Life Cycle rating, which should ideally be 10,000 to 50,000 mating cycles. Check for IP67 or IP68 Waterproof Ratings if the product is used in wearable or outdoor environments. The housing material should be High-Temperature Resistant Plastic (like LCP or PA9T) to withstand reflow soldering during the PCB assembly process.

To ensure global market access, products must adhere to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH standards. For the North American market, UL Certification for safety is critical, while the CE Mark is required for Europe. If the connector is used in medical devices, ensure the supplier follows ISO 13485 quality management systems.

Yes, most professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com offer OEM/ODM services. You should provide 2D/3D CAD drawings or request Custom Pin Configurations (2-pin to 10-pin+). Ensure the supplier can provide Mold Flow Analysis and Prototyping before mass production to verify the magnetic alignment and polarity.

Always request a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) by a third-party agency. For magnetic components, specifically ask for a Salt Spray Test Report to check for plating quality and a Force Gauge Test to verify magnetic pull. Using Secured Payment services on Made-in-China.com can protect your funds until the goods are verified.

Negotiate based on Volume Tiers; for electronic components, price breaks often occur at 1k, 5k, and 10k units. Ask for the BOM (Bill of Materials) transparency regarding the magnet type (e.g., N52 Neodymium) to ensure they aren't using lower-grade magnets to cut costs. Request a Golden Sample to be kept as a reference for quality disputes.

Magnets are classified as Dangerous Goods (Class 9) in air freight if the magnetic field strength exceeds certain limits. Ensure the supplier provides Magnetic Shielding Packaging and a Non-Magnetic Inspection Report to avoid delays or rejections by airlines. For sea freight, ensure Desiccant Packs are included to prevent oxidation of the pins during long transit times.

Stay updated on HS Code classification (typically 8536.90) to calculate accurate import duties. Be aware of Anti-dumping duties or specific tariffs (like Section 301 in the US) that may apply to electronic components from certain regions. Choosing a supplier with a Certificate of Origin (CO) can often help in claiming preferential tariff rates under Free Trade Agreements.
