Eye lens price manufacturers

When sourcing eye lenses, you must prioritize Oxygen Permeability (Dk/t) and Water Content. High-quality lenses typically use Silicone Hydrogel for superior breathability. Ensure the Base Curve (BC) and Diameter (DIA) meet your target market's physiological standards. For B2B procurement, verify that the manufacturer adheres to ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management Systems) to ensure consistent production safety.

Eye lenses are classified as Class II or Class III medical devices in most jurisdictions. For the US market, FDA 510(k) clearance is mandatory. For the European Union, CE Marking (MDR 2017/745) is required. If sourcing from China via Made-in-China.com, ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) and a valid Medical Device Production License to avoid customs seizures.

Pricing is highly sensitive to lens type (spherical, toric for astigmatism, or multifocal) and replacement cycle (daily, monthly, or yearly). Daily disposables generally have a lower unit cost but higher volume requirements. B2B buyers can typically negotiate a 15-25% discount when moving from a trial MOQ (e.g., 500 boxes) to a container load. Private label (OEM) services may increase the initial price due to packaging customization but offer higher long-term brand margins.

Request Sterility Test Reports and Biocompatibility Reports (ISO 10993) for every batch. Ensure the packaging integrity is verified to prevent contamination. It is recommended to use third-party inspection services to check the expiry dates, as medical devices must have at least 80% of their shelf life remaining upon arrival at the destination port.

The biggest risk is Regulatory Non-Compliance. If the supplier's registration does not match the destination country's health authority requirements, the goods will be destroyed by customs. Additionally, temperature sensitivity during shipping can degrade lens quality; always specify climate-controlled logistics for long-haul maritime transport.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released after proof of shipment. Avoid direct wire transfers to unverified personal accounts. Always sign a Quality Assurance Agreement that defines the compensation process for defective batches or non-compliant certifications.

Focus on long-term partnership stability rather than just the lowest unit price. Negotiate for marketing support (e.g., free trial samples for your customers) and flexible MOQ for new SKU launches. Ask for tiered pricing based on annual cumulative volume rather than single-order volume to maintain cash flow while securing discounts.

Work with a freight forwarder experienced in Medical Device Logistics. Ensure all HS Codes (typically 9001.30) are correctly declared. Prepare a Letter of Authorization (LOA) from the manufacturer if you are registering the product in your local market. For shipping to countries with strict medical regulations, ensure the Product Insert (IFU) is translated into the local language as required by law.
